October is National Medical Librarians Month!

In honor of National Medical Librarians Month, please share any pictures or promotions your libraries are doing on the MLA-Phil website!

I’ll start this off with where I work. On the Drexel University Health Sciences Libraries’ website, there will be a blog entry (update: here it is!) with a link to profiles of the librarians.

To see what other libraries are doing in the region, take a look at the Middle Atlantic Region on NLM’s website. This page features a description of Delaware Academy of Medicine’s Wellness Wednesdays.

Call for focus group volunteers: Value of Libraries Planning Study

NNLM logo

The Value of Libraries Planning Study Group asks for 6-8 hospital librarians, or librarians in an academic medical center that serve a hospital, to attend a focus group on the afternoon of Friday, October 12, 2007. The results of the focus group, which will be facilitated by Elaine Martin of the University of Massachusetts and tape recorded, will inform the work of the Value of Libraries Planning Study Group in defining and shaping a research study on the value of libraries. Focus group attendees will be asked to interview their hospital administrators prior to the focus group, using a standard set of questions.

To volunteer for the focus group, please contact PJ Grier at plg@delamed.org or 302-733-3937. Once you have been confirmed as a focus group volunteer, he will be in touch with you about exact location and times, as well as provide you with the list of questions to ask your hospital administrator.
