If yes, Ellen Justice, the Development Chair of the MLA-Phil chapter needs a co-chair to help her with the process of asking for and accepting financial contributions as she will be on leave starting in February 2010. Primary duties include: accept and document contributions, mail or e-mail thank you notes to contributors, promote contributions in the chapter newsletter and via the chapter e-mail list, update the sponsors page on the blog http://www.mlaphil.org/wp/15/thank-you-sponsors/, and help recognize contributors at the spring annual dinner. If you are interested or want to find out more please contact Ellen as soon as possible at (302) 733-3181. She plans to send out letters asking for contributions in the next three weeks and would like to include your work address as an alternate mail-in option for contributors.
Thank you for your consideration.
Glad to be of service, Ellen Justice, MLIS, AHIP

On Tuesday November 20, 2007 over twenty of MLA-Phil colleagues viewed the latest MLA Webcast on scholarly publishing and open access at Thomas Jefferson University’s Herbut Auditorium. The Education Committee coordinated and hosted the event with the help of several other MLA-Phil members.
One of the resources discussed was a Toolbox Card about Open Access available to MLA members at www.mlanet.org (Professional Resource link then Advocacy Toolbox). One correction needs to be noted on Card 18: The PDF link to the ARL publication “Framing the Issue…” is now http://www.arl.org/bm~doc/framing_issue_may04.pdf.
