Second Life Learning Commons for Nurses Meeting

Greetings,

We of the Virtual Learning Commons for Nurses (Eastern University) are planning an in-world meeting to discuss the use of immersive technologies (Second Life) for nursing education and library services. The meeting will be held sometime in January. However, we do not have a specific date set.

There are several universities in the USA and UK already implementing nursing programs in SL.  We hope some of you will join us in Second Life and contribute your insights to our discussion of the technologies emerging for nursing distance education and reference.

When we have a specific date, I will post here.

Until then come visit us in Second Life (Teching 10 Island) or join us on the wiki (http://vlcn.wetpaint.com/).

Take care,

Mark

We need your assistance promoting an online nursing education survey

Greetings,

Please excuse the cross posting.

I am doing research in use of on-line learning resources (including virtual worlds like Second Life) for nurse education. Would you please share with your institutions’ departments of nursing the information the link to survey where we are gathering data?

The survey asks questions regarding attitudes toward online learning and the use of gaming or virtual worlds. The url is:

http://www.eastern.edu/library/Survey.html

We have had a wonderful response thus far and hope to gather more data over the coming weeks. The survey will run throughout October.

Thank you all in advance.
Mark
