Agreement finalized, Tri-chapter meeting set for AC

At the Board meeting on September 19th, the agreement for the Philadelphia Chapter to participate in a joint meeting with the NY/NJ and Mid-Atlantic Chapters was finalized. The conference will take place October 4th – 7th, 2009 at Resorts in Atlantic City.

In early May, a few people from the three chapters visited AC to evaluate various venues.  At the end of the day, everyone  agreed enthusiastically on Resorts. The hotel/casino is well situated on the Boardwalk, features beautiful ocean views, and brand new, affordable rooms in the newly-build Rendezvouz Tower. Many of the original Art Deco touches from the original hotel (the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel) remain, and lend a distinctive charm to the site. The hotel even lays claim to a medical history, having been put into service as a hospital during WWII.

We are excited about the opportunity to put together a GREAT conference, and we need your help to make this happen.  Committees are now forming with responsibilities for exhibits, fundraising, CE, local arrangements and hospitality, programming, etc.    If you’ve been looking for a chance to get involved and work with your colleagues on something worthwhile, now’s your chance.  Please do not hesitate to contact me (215 596-8961, or c.mcclel@usp[dot]com) to volunteer, or with any questions.  I look forward to hearing from you, and to working with everyone to make this an outstanding event.
