Survey on EBP roles of librarians that work with nurses

If you’re a librarian that works with nurses, please consider responding to this survey. Results will be presented at the Annual Meeting in Chicago:

The NAHRS/MLA Research Committee (Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section of the Medical Library Association) invites all librarians working with nurses, nursing faculty, and/or nursing students in ANY setting to respond to a survey on Librarian Roles in Evidence-Based Nursing Practice. (posting to multiple lists; please excuse duplication)

To take the survey, click on this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=LbVcVHiE2lVWWk5_2br1cNXg_3d_3d Or, use link on the NAHRS website, http://nahrs.mlanet.org/. Once you’ve completed the survey, you won’t be allowed to take it again.

The purpose is to explore how current trends in evidence based nursing practice are affecting librarian roles, including our roles in the ANCC Magnet Program. The results will provide information and support for NAHRS initiatives to create standards for services and staffing for libraries serving nurses.

This is an expanded and updated version of a 2005 web survey, with new items suggested by 2005 results and comments, issues discussed on the NAHRS list, and the NAHRS/MLA 2007 survey of library services at Magnet hospitals (see http://nahrs.mlanet.org/activity/mapping/research/index.html ) If you work with nurses, you should be able to answer all required questions. Contact information is required to insure that there is only one answer per facility and so that you can be contacted if there is a question about your responses.

Neither your identity nor facility name will be released. Results will be shared and reported only in aggregate form.

Quantitative results will be shared via the NAHRS and HLS (Hospital Libraries Section) lists. Non members may request that the results be emailed to them.

Selected, but non-identified responses will be included in NAHRS program presentations at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Library Association on Tuesday, May 20 in Chicago. Please respond by May 9, 2008 to give us time to include your responses in our presentations.
