Information Ventures, Inc., a Center City publisher and information services
provider, is seeking a part-time Scientific Database Searcher to conduct
comprehensive searches for literature and information on chemicals of
toxicological interest. Minimum qualifications include demonstrated knowledge
of sources of biomedical and chemical information; a Masters Degree in Library
Science or a Bachelor’s Degree or better in a relevant scientific discipline
(Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.); experience developing, refining, and
executing complex, sophisticated search strategies in online scientific
databases including those offered by the National Library of Medicine and
commercial database vendors such as STN and DIALOG; experience conducting
chemical structure/substructure searches; and knowledge of and experience
searching reliable, vetted sources of chemical and biomedical information
