MLA Grants and Scholarships

MLA offers a variety of grants and scholarships to assist qualified students in graduate library science programs and to enable practicing health sciences librarians to take advantage of opportunities for continuing professional development. The Thomson Reuters/Frank Bradway Rogers Information Advancement Award

The Thomson Reuters/Frank Bradway Rogers Information Advancement Award – Recognize Technological Innovation in Health Science Information

The Rogers Award, originally called the ISI Information Advancement Award, is presented annually in recognition of outstanding contributions in the use of technology to deliver health science information, in the science of information, or in the facilitation of the delivery of health science information. The award, sponsored by the Thomson Reuters, has been given since 1983. The recipient receives a cash award of $500 and will be recognized at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Medical Library Association.

Details of the 58th Annual Business Meeting and Reception

More than fifty attendees enjoyed reconnecting with friends, networking, listening and learning from an entertaining speaker, and sampling wonderful cuisine at the 2009 Annual Business Meeting and Reception of the Medical annmtg2009-1Library Association, Philadelphia Regional Chapter.  The meeting was held on April 15 at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia in the foyer and meeting room next to the Mütter Museum.  The meeting was attended by members, non-members, students, and vendor representatives.  Photos of the event, taken by Archives Committee Chair Joan McKenzie, are available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/8055980@N04/tags/annualmeeting2009/.
