			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ECRI Institute, an AHRQ-designated Evidence-based Practice Center, seeks an experienced Information Specialist to join the Hotline Response Team as part of our Health Technology Assessment Information Center.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Specific responsibilities include:<br />
</span>• Intensive biomedical database and Web searching (PubMed, OVID, Dialog, The Cochrane Library, EBSCOhost, The National Guideline Clearinghouse, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, etc.)<br />
• Search strategy construction, assessment, refinement, and maintenance<br />
• Conducting reference interviews with clients and communicating with staff to define topics and the scope of searches<br />
• Managing projects through research, writing, and editing phases to ensure timely delivery of client reports<br />
• Documenting search strategies and results according to ECRI Institute guidelines</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span id="more-4341"></span>Requirements:<br />
</span>• A graduate degree in information/library science<br />
• Demonstrated searching experience in major biomedical databases<br />
• The ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment<br />
• Excellent written, oral communication and problem solving skills<br />
• The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary staff</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will be familiar with principles of evidence-based medicine, MeSH, and have previous experience with citation management systems (Reference Manager). Prior experience in a clinical environment and experience writing, editing, and formatting documentation for publication is also desired.</p>

</span>Hotline Response reports serve as guides to the published literature on specific devices, drugs, and medical procedures. These reports are requested by clients and customized to meet their specific information needs. Prepared by information specialists and research analysts, the Responses describe how a certain technology is used, with analytical text and comprehensive literature searches to showcase the latest medical evidence. We maintain over 1,200 unique topics in our Web-based Hotline library, which is updated on a daily basis. Our clients include an international group of third-party insurance providers, hospitals, health systems, medical device manufacturers, government agencies and ministries of health.</p>

This information will underlie profiles that forecast potential impact on health care facilities, utilization, patient outcomes, and healthcare costs.</p>
<p><span id="more-3822"></span>Requirements include: Master&#8217;s degree in library and information science plus 3 years relevant work experience. Knowledge of multiple search platforms (OVID, Lexis-Nexis, PubMed, SCOPUS, etc.), controlled vocabularies, and experience searching grey literature essential. Experience with market research techniques, competitive intelligence, and device/pharmaceutical-oriented research desirable. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.</p>
<p>Specific responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Contributing to evolving design and implementation of tracking system for horizon scanning leads</li>
<li>Assessing yield of existing resources and quality of proposed new resources</li>
<li>Scanning assigned resources for leads</li>
<li>Creating and monitoring alerts for assigned topics</li>
<li>Searching bibliographic and grey literature for assigned topics</li>
<li>Participating in weekly team meetings</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ECRI Institute, an independent non-profit organization that researches the best approaches to improving patient care, is seeking an Electronic Services Librarian to handle all facets of serials collection and maintenance through the Library’s InMagic system including supervision of the Serials Coordinator. <span id="more-2507"></span>The success candidate will be responsible for (1) identifying electronic resources in support of ECRI Institute’s research; (2) organizing and maintaining these resources for staff use; (3) maintaining the internal Library website on Sharepoint; and (4) providing information search and retrieval assistance on other ECRI Institute projects as required.</p>
<p>Requirements:  Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited school and minimum 5 years experience managing online library systems in a Medical/legal environment. Familiarity with medical resources and online database searching preferred. Supervisory experience desirable. Additional requirements include:</p>
<p>1.  knowledge of and interest in personal computers, printers, modems, and other hardware required;2.  technical abilities to assess computer hardware and software problems and assist staff accordingly;</p>
<p>3.  an ability to train individuals in the effective use of all relevant systems;</p>
<p>4.  an ability to work with minimum supervision;</p>
<p>5.  proven record of excellent verbal and written communications skills with a high level of accuracy; and</p>
<p>6.  an ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.</p>
