Program Committee Report

Gary Kaplan
When I began my career in academic medical libraries almost a decade ago, I assumed August would be a quiet time. Meet Your Fellow Chapter Member: Stephanie C. Geffert

Edited by Sheryl Panka-Bryman and Rachel R. Resnick.

Stephanie GeffertPlease talk about your current professional position. Describe what you do and for which organization.

My current position (since June 2008) is Director of Research & Education, Pain Medicine Fellowship Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant for Mid Atlantic Spine & Pain Physicians in Newark, Delaware . We are a private practice that specializes in interventional pain management for chronic pain. I help to manage the ACGME accredited pain medicine program. We are the training site for Temple University Hospital. I organize and keep track of all the deadlines for book chapters, research projects and other invitations the doctors may receive. I sometimes have the opportunity to participate in the research projects myself: I have helped to form an IRB, and have helped to write published guidelines on cervical facet joints for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. My other role for the practice is to serve as an assistant to the doctors, schedule meetings and perform administrative duties. I am also interested in patient education and plan to offer library resources for our patients shortly! Read more» » »
