This year’s Drexel University Libraries’ Scholarly Communication Symposium focuses on the economics of scholarly communication. Can information and publication really be “free”? What are the hidden and other costs? Who pays? Who benefits? What are the implications for researchers? for publishers? The symposium will be held on Thursday, April 16th from 8:30am-1:30pm at the Edmund D. Bossone Research Enterprise Center, on the south side of Market Street between 31st and 32nd Streets in Philadelphia. Join us to learn about SCOAP3 (the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics) and exchange ideas with our expert panel–including our own Karen Albert–on open access, intellectual property management, and digital content preservation.
